I can't answer your question but Congratulations!Ds was just awarded 4 year scholarship to San Diego State. Does anyone have any knowledge or experience with this NROTC unit. He is very interested in special ops or aviation.

YOu should go into the San Diego NROTC website, and read everything you can find there. It is amazing what is available to learn if you know where to look, and then just spend the time reading.Thank you so much for the information. This was my first time on this forum and I am amazed at the information available here.
that's a frequently asked question, not just for NROTC, but college apps, job apps, etc. The answer usually is.. depends on how well the Big Whig actually knows the person. "A family friend" generally is a pretty weak connection. The Big Whig needs to be able to speak to specific things the applicant has done that prove he/she is a can't miss pick. In other words, it gernally works well only if the applicant and Big Whig have worked together on a project that allows Big Whig to make credible and specific comments about the applicant's capabilities and character.so i got mine in on the second board. A family friend, Admiral Greenert chief of naval operations, would it help if he like "sponsored" me?
