Of course! I believe mailings from the last board were scheduled to go out today, so mailbox stalking is going to be big the next week or so. I understand that not all MOCs call people, so many will receive their first notices in the mail.
And I say that there is always hope until you get a TWE. Good luck!
 
Thank you for your input. I'm trying to "fly under the radar" and appear calm and collected with my son, so this blog has been a great source of information.
 
Portal Change

This morning DS's portal changed. It says, "Congrats, you've been offered an appointment" and also has a link to a letter of congrats from the Director of Admissions!

In addition, an email arrived that says "You have an offer of an appointment . . .from USAFA." It's a DO NOT REPLY email with a link to DS's portal.

Something else for you guys to stalk! I hope all of your dreams come true!

Thanks, YorkieMom. Unfortunately DS's status has not changed....I guess this is the handwriting on the wall....

No email, no portal update. That's a bit discouraging seeing as other people seem to have had portal updates today as well. :frown: Keeping faith until I receive a TWE though.

Praise the Lord, We Got The News Today

Hello all. I have been monitoring the forum for weeks as we anticipated getting the news for our DS. I have never joined a forum before and didn't even know how to post a message until a few minutes ago.

Waiting has been very difficult for us and especially our DS, but God in His own timing taught us patience!

Anyway, our DS got the good news today, via an e-mail and change in his portal status. He received an appointment to the USAFA for the Class of 2016! Mom and I are simultaneously excited and nervous. We will definitely be on our knees every day during basic.

Anyway, so you can keep the list current, DS is a Congressional Nominee, Donna Christensen, U.S. Virgin Islands. We are so thankful and blessed to have received the trust and confidence of Congresswoman Christensen.

We are looking forward to meeting many of you at parents weekend.

Web Portal Update

DD web portal updated this morning to show appointment (she already knew via MOC). The appointment letter says DD must make decision by 15 April. That's unusual, since all other colleges and service academies have a standard deadline of 1 May. Not to gripe about good news, but USAFA is one of the last to notify and then wants to know the soonest.

Good luck to those still waiting.
 
Ok, listen up troops!

Congrats to everyone who got good news so far!

If you haven't heard, I wouldn't assume anything! If you were running a marathon, would you stop and give up just because a few others already crossed the finish line? NO! Of course you wouldn't! You have to keep on running. Don't stop now!! You have invested too much time and energy to give up now.

"The race is not to the swift, but to those who keep on running!"

"But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles [or Falcons]; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint." Isaiah 40:31

Remember the story about the tortoise and the hare? You either read it to your kids or your parents read it to you. The moral of the story was to keep on going, even though you weren't the fastest! And to never give up, remember?

So grab a 5 Hour energy drink or a double-shot Starbucks vanilla latte (or whatever gets you going), put on your sneaks, turn your ball cap around to the "rally cap" position, and get your butt moving! It's not over yet!

It's OK to worry, fret, stalk, vent - anything like that. But don't give up!

Normally, I'd agree with you, but in this case, it seems that everyone who will be getting an appointment (except a couple late exceptions) DID get an appointment.
But congrats to YOUR son, who is apparently better qualified than me! :thumb:

The Admissions page on facebook says, "The majority of appointments are going out this week but it will go out through mid April." Keep the faith!
