Orientation Dinner

Can't believe that the list is already starting for orientation.

Warning: REALIZE some of them will be in charge of you at BCT! Hornet and Eagle won't, but who knows about the others.

Hornet does not look like a Craig at all, he actually looks like his real name! Eagle too looks like his real name.

Now I know I am old, this will be the last one for the two of them.

Eagle what is your post AFA life going to be?

I hope it's not to early to be starting this list, I just wanted to get started so I could figure out what I needed to do.

I have met hornet once, but never caught his first name.

Brian

Brian - we're looking forward to meeting you as well - thanks for being proactive in setting this up! My son has a friend from the CO Springs area (went to 3 SS's with him last summer) who will also be attending AF (and parents will hopefully be both of their sponsors). Is it okay to invite him along as well, even though he's not a SAForums person? Thinking just one more classmate to know!

Since you know the area - quick question if you don't mind. We first booked the Drury Inn (just because my husband and son had stayed there a couple times before and were happy with it). Now that I see most folks are staying at the Academy Hotel, I went ahead and booked there just in case. I've heard from others that it's not that great of a hotel, but we're also not very picky. Any thoughts on the two of them? Anyone who's been to orientation before - is it better to be where most of the people are? Do the parents get together Monday night at all or anything?

Thanks!

marciemi,

That would be great to bring along anyone who is going to orientation, I really don't mind as long as I get a good headcount when the time comes.

Like you said, the Academy hotel isn't the greatest. But it is given that name for a reason, because there is a lot of Academy events held there. There is the convenience of being picked up there in the morning. I think last year the people staying there had a get together after the dinner (and maybe on Monday also). I think If I had to pick I would pick the Academy hotel just because it would probably be a blast staying with a hotel full of future classmates.

Brian

Pima,

As of now i am set to head to UPT (find out bases in 17 days!) However, i may get the chance to head to AFIT for 18 months before UPT, so we'll see. Either way it's going to be exciting. Amazing how time flies by.

Pima, now you have me all self concious about if I look like a Craig or not. Way to go.

The Academy Hotel is where the party was at for last year's orientation.
