Pennsylvania Nominations?

Just received my nomination letter from Toomey! No word from Casey yet! Best of luck to everyone!

So....LOA that said "guaranteed appointment if you receive a nomination" + letter received today from Senator saying "it is my pleasure to inform you that you hae been selected as one of my nominees" = he's in, right?!?? is this for real?

he's received in writing medically qualified, completed CFA and qualifed, and I guess with the LOA he's academically qualified. will it say in his portal 3Q?
(huge sigh of relief) this has been quite a ride watching from the sides.
thanks!

Looking at your past posts your DS's LOA is for USNA, right? In that case, he will not be told if he is 3Q and it doesn't show up on his portal, but my guess is yes. Congrats!

Yes USNA. That's what i thought i had understood about the Q from other forum threads but wanted to be sure.

Not that I have seen. DS received letter today. No call. Congressman Barletta did a press release for 2011 and 2012 nominations so I would think he may release one this year as well.

bburns112,
I am sorry to hear that. Did you ever hear from your Congressman (PA-08 as I recall)?

I have not received any formal confirmation yet but someone on this board supposedly has PA-08 on their portal as of last week... Maybe it was a competitive year. A buddy of mine got one from Toomey and one from Shwartz last year and was waitlisted. He is doing NROTC at Villanova now and reapplied for the USNA. He hasn't received any nomination either. Strange. I won't accept defeat, though. There is always next year! :thumb:

bburns112,
At this point, I do not think that it would hurt to call your congressman's district director and ask if the nomination decisions have been made and/or communicated. This assumes that you have not already done so.

You may find that the administrative staff who answers the phone may be able to easily answer this question.

I would not press in terms of your specific nomination, only if the decisions have been made and the timing of the notifications.

My sense is that a general inquiry regarding the process would not be adverse to any decision regarding your nomination.

Your attitude is very commendable.

Well, I finally got that letter from my congressman. Unfortunately I was rejected.

The road to reapplying starts today!
