Just today, I received a letter from my congresswoman, stating that I had received a nomination to USNA. In November, I received a letter from USNA saying "The admissions board has found you qualified to compete for admission to the U.S. Naval Academy with the class of 2015. You are guaranteed an offer of appointment if your remaining admissions requirements are satisfactorily met."
Then the Nominations box was ticked off. Is this letter simply stating that I will be eligible to compete after I receive a nomination? What does it mean by "guaranteed an offer of appointment?"
