Are there any practices in all Service Academies to study/learn effective combat experiences like Ukrainian Army and Ukrainian Air Force who are courageously crushing russian army?
I’m a 30-year Army vet with DS in a Foundation Prep… soThe service war colleges study warfare, tactics and military history. SAs develop junior officers and leaders. And hopefully, beat Army!
A matter of time - did you see russians captured soldiers? Disoriented and have no clue what are they doing.I highly doubt the Ukrainian forces are crushing the Russian army. Sure they are courageous and i am sure they are slowing down the Russians, but the russians forces arent being crushed
Yes. They are second rate. Reports of Russian squads have no idea that they are going to a combat environment. Also according to reports, they are mostly 18-19 year olds. And the leadership have no expertise in combined land-sea-air operations. If the U.S. Army have this experience, the commanders (company to division) will be wishing to go to their dentist for a root canal and 4-wisdom teeth extractions rather than face the wrath of their commander. I supposed there are worse situation than the commander’s wrath like getting fired and packing your bags to go home.A matter of time - did you see russians captured soldiers? Exactly - although there are 150-160K were massed at the border, only 2-4% of officers have some combat experience. russia has over 5000 killed already.Yes. They are second rate. From the start of the invasion, the media portrayed the invading horde as invincible. It’s laughable when they will face the famed 82nd Airborne Division.Exactly - although there are 150-160K were massed at the border, only 2-4% of officers have some combat experience. russia has over 5000 killed already.
Sorry but the “invincible” invading horde is worse than one of our allies. I’m not going to mention any names, but they have wine included in their rations and they drink wine during lunch… and take a noon siesta. No, You’re Not Imagining It: Russia’s Army Is Inept
But superior firepower still gives it an edge in the short run.slate.com
Knowing not a lot about the Russian military I found this a very good and not long article. Gives me a much better idea what might be going on, on the ground.
I do wonder what the west’s response might be if additional countries join the attack.
You mean Belarus..? ok we need one more to become the 3-Stooges in armored tanks. I know several readers here pinpointed my comments as “triumphalism” but my perspectives are from the fox hole level… yes I went to War College, but I belong with the grunts in the mud.No, You’re Not Imagining It: Russia’s Army Is Inept

Yeah but who doesn’t do that?Sorry but the “invincible” invading horde is worse than one of our allies. I’m not going to mention any names, but they have wine included in their rations and they drink wine during lunch… and take a noon siesta.
What?Yeah but who doesn’t do that?
(awkward silence)
A target-rich environment. As someone who spent virtually their entire war deployment hiding , often successfully, from the enemy. I am trying to picture what a 40 mile long convey of trucks, troops, and tanks, looks like to pilots or drone operators.
If the Ukrainian Air Force still exists, why aren't they just strafing the entire convoy? Target rich environment. I don't think much of it still exists. That will be Ukraine's downfall. Can't win a modern war without air. Guerrilla warfare will continue, but even that will be difficult because Ukraine is less that 20% forested. Once Russia controls the cities and towns, it will be difficult to wage guerilla warfare. If the Ukrainian Air Force still exists, why aren't they just strafing the entire convoy?
