Second Time on the Roller Coaster

I have waited many sleepless nights my friends to post this news. I called my son this afternoon after receiving a message at home from the senator's office who nominated him. He had just received the same message on his phone. The 2 minutes I spent waiting for my DS to call back seemed like an eternity. Not sure my legs were going to hold me up as I saw his call come through on my cell. I was already crying when I answered. He said that would need to make flight reservations to be in Annapolis July 1st. As tears ran down my face with joy, my son told me of his conversation with the senator's office. The day has finally arrived my friends! DS has received an appointment to the class of 2019! BFE will be sent out next week. We should have by end of week. I plan to personally deliver it to him for opening. The 4 hour car ride will seem like an eternity, but I can't wait to hug him and tell him in person how proud I am of his accomplishment. I hope that all of my 2nd time friends will post good news. We all have some pretty amazing children. I'm praying for all of you! What a ride it has been. :D

You made me cry with joy for you all!! Congratulations and strap in for the ride. Head over facebook and request to join the USNA Parent Community once you have the BFE (take photo it is required "proof" to join the closed group).

See you at NMCS-you must plan to attend a game and don't forget to mail in your plebe parent Army Navy football ticket request that comes in the BFE.

Go Navy Beat Army!!

What exciting great news and it's so refreshing to read someone fully embrace the joy of such an accomplishment! The Navy is lucky to have him. Anchors aweigh...

That's wonderful news! So happy for your DS and you!

At long last, the much anticipated phone call has come. DS just received phone call from MOC informing him of his appointment to the Class of 2019. He was wait listed for the Class of 2018 receiving the TWE last June. Those months, and the reapplication process were hard for us, he, however, managed them like the trooper he is. I want to thank all of you, your advice, your words of encouragement ( and the stories!!) helped us through a lot. We discovered these boards late in this crazy process last year, and were finally able to make some sort of sense out of it all. I truly hope that those phone calls are coming in for you and will keep you and your families in my prayers. GO NAVY!!!

Wooohooo Sprintmom!!!! Congratulations to your DS!! I know that you must be ecstatic! Seeing others receive good news on this thread is absolutely wonderful. I could not be happier for you. What a ride! I am still praying for my other friends on this thread. I know each of you will be receiving good news soon. Go Navy!

Got the call from MOC about two hours ago! Couldn't believe it. I was in complete shock! I know there are many still waiting and all I can say is stay the course and you'll know when you know. Have faith and pray. It's been nearly two years ago that I started this whole thing (like many of you) and I assure you it is all worth it.

Day by day...

Currey started this post last year and as many have done, we wait. My DS has completed his round two but stands reserved in protecting his feelings and not to hope or become excited.

I asked him yesterday... "So son what are you going to do if accepted." Reply... "Dad, this is just where I don't want to go lets focus on what I do have. I am very happy with my NROTC scholarship as well as the unit that I am in; I do not want to set myself up and have it hurt again. If accepted it will be something I think about at that time....just not now!" I guess Dad's can learn lessons from their on unit (child).

Venting...to all on the roller coaster because I just can't do it to my DS! If he gets a call, fantastic, if not he will continue and commission from NROTC.
