I will be turning 18 in the middle of Beast. Do I still have to register for the draft? If so, how do I do it while at USMA? I heard my parents can do it for me but don't know for sure.
Oh, also your not joining the draft either in fact your going to be at west point so dont worry about getting drafted
If a young man turns 18 at any time prior to actually attending one of the service academies, he is required to register. If he turns 18 while attending, he does not have to register. If he leaves the Academy and active military duty prior to his 26th birthday, he will be required to register then.
America's Finest - are you having a bad day?
Seems like your alter ego, "America's Finest. " is.
America's Finest,
I don't ordinarily post in threads such as this, but I feel the need. I was taken in by the imposter in the previous thread. I honestly thought, based on some of your previous posts, that it was you. I was hoping it was an ironic post, but I still believed it to be yours. You might ask yourself why this has happened. Your tendency to alienate others can have a detrimental affect on your time at USMA. You have stated on several occassions that it is not your deisre to be liked. I know you believe you are fully prepared come what may, but NO ONE gets through the place on their own -- it is a definite "cooperate and graduate" environment. It is unfortunate, but if your peers decide to make your life miserable, they are more than capable. I personally know of instances when the corps has decided they want someone gone -- and they make it happen. The same thing happens in Ranger School -- they call it getting "peered", and it happened to one of my son's '08 classmates with an attitude very similar to yours. Your rush to judgment on everyone concerning the troll just reinforces this. It was a childish prank, but maybe you should ask yourself if you have left yourself open to it. I don't want this to come off as an attack, just some well-intentioned advice to take a hard look at how you present yourself.
Good answer! Are you going to be attending the send-off picnic for Georgia cadets this Sunday?
