Still haven't heard

My counselor at USAFA is out til the 31, but i'm pretty sure appointments will be shown on the portals this week.

Just a little advice, none of us can control what happens with admissions at this point, but you can control your attitude and the way you view the process. Be proud of yourself, go out and run, study, etc. Stalking the portal, as hard as it is not to do, won't help you get accepted any faster. Trust me.

Good luck everyone! Hang in there & I also encourage you to keep a backup plan open, such as make sure to submit college deposits that may be due soon just incase.

Candidates: Regular selections are taking place; appointee offers out by mid-April.

Saw this on the admissions site. I was told that they would all go out by April so for those still waiting like me, looks like we might be waiting even longer.

So do you think we'll see anymore appointments come out tomorrow or Monday? Since it's by the end of the month like it says in the "Instructions to Candidate" booklet?

The admissions site is more current than the instructions to candidates. I guess we have to wait even longer.

I wonder why they're comparatively off schedule.

If the timeline in the instructions to candidates is correct, some of the remaining appointments have to go to falcon foundation and prep school candidates.

Could it be that appointments have gone out and some of us haven't received a yes or no because we are second behind the first candidate who has not yet accepted or declined their appt?

ALO has told me that there are 3+ possible reasons for the extended wait:
1.) The slate has no obvious winner/multiple candidates have nearly equal WCS' and admissions hasn't decided yet
2.) Someone has already been appointed and the rest of the qualified candidates are on the NWL
3.) Someone has a conditional appointment pending the outcome of a medical waiver decision

Obviously, there are other possible reasons, as well. These are just (in ALO's opinion) the most likely three. It's all part of the process. ALO, my AC, and my MOC's staffers always tell me that AFA is the slowest of the academies to get back to candidates.

My ALO told me another big wave of appointments will be going out in April.
