I was thinking the same thing)
Well aren't they mailing out APPOINTMENTS as well??!!
God I sure hope they're still mailing appointments! When I saw that tweet my heart dropped.
As I'm typing this my husband sent me a text saying there was no mail again today.
This morning when my DS came downstairs to leave for school he was wearing a USNA shirt he got during Summer Seminar. Looking at him brought tears to my eyes - not sure why but the water works started flowing, which is completely out of character for me. DS gave me a big hug and told me it's out of our hands and not to worry; everything would work out the way it has been planned for him. He kissed me on the cheek and was out the door. Oh how I love that boy!
Smmtx1 my DS wears his NASS clothes all the time and I know exactly how you feel. He would love to be able to trade it in for a shirt with NAVY across the front in big letters.

I wanted to pass on a helpful hint to enhance your mailbox stalking and endless waiting for the MOC phone call. Go to I-Tunes and download ANCHORS AWAY, It's under classic college fight songs. Then make it your alarm ringtone and you can start everyday the Navy way. It is quite inspirational but your significant other will go insane, especially if you hit snooze a few times. I am a Navy veteran so i never got tired of hearing it.
As for those declining appointments with others hopefully being given their slots: Please keep in mind that in a typical year approximately 1,500 appointments are offered and only 1,200 are accepted. In most cases, declined appointments are not re-slotted and are just figured into the 20% of appointments that are declined unless the declining individual was a principal nominee.
