This thread needs to be locked, we are no longer doing any help to any candidate. In honesty, if you were a candidate or a lurker, you would walk away because all they see is combative posts, nobody is saying anything positive of their sister branches as grayhog posed.
Gray Hog is correct, we need each other.
The fact is the Army can't get anywhere without the AF, but the mission can't get completed without the Army. The Navy can't do the job of the Army, or the AF. The AF and Army need the Navy to do their mission so they can do theirs. We will be forever joined. Now let's add in the sister we forget about all too often..the USCG. They come to rescue for our brethren, on top of that they do some awesome rescue missions.
In the AF they have a light in each squadron...if it is on then spouses are not allowed to enter without the AD member paying for it in spades, basically the hootch is a football locker room.
OBTW did you miss my early post on offending ROTC/OCS cadets that are in this site, are do you not care?
[Disclaimer for non-grads:
In other words only SA grads got it?!?!?
ROTC grads didn't get it? OCS grads didn't get it? Enlisted parents didn't get it? Officer parents didn't get it? Only the SA member can understand...thanks for helping us.
Sorry, but I am still waiting as a person who followed her DH around the world for you to apologize for the non-chalant remark about homosexuals. Might have been a joke to you, but trust me for some of us with homosexual family members it was offensive. My godmother lost her partner of 27 yrs the day before NJ recognized civil unions. She spent thousands on legal fees because of her partners children. Homosexuality isn't a comic relief regarding military posts. Honestly, I would think anyone with ties to the military would not find DADT issues humorous. I also would think that an officer in today's Army would not find it funny making a joke about all of the women he may or may not have slept with in an open forum, especially since they are a Field Admissions Rep. Worse yet, a BGO who jokingly states he will defend him.
I guess I missed that lesson on being offended as a woman on a site dedicated to equality regarding the military. I guess you attended that class along with others and can now explain the "TELL ALL THE GALS" your their defense since uou were a WOOP. Go for it tell the fathers and mothers how you "tell all the girls".
Like I said Mombee at least realized he crossed the line. He aplogized. He got that he would kick a USNA cadet to the Potomac River if they said that crap/
I am sorry, but if Gray Hog and others cannot understand the offensive
sexual context towards women I can't help him. To brag about sexual conquests in a joking manner and have another poster defend it, albeit it in the same context, is offensive. Sex to me is not a light hearted matter to be posted on an open site, it is private and intimate. I will not make an apology for how I feel, all I will say is I hope that my stance makes you think twice about opening your mouth and making a joke about sex.
Now if you want to keep the urination contest going between me and you because you feel you are superior, I suggest we meet somewhere for a game of CRUD...winner does MEA CULPA on this site. Otherwise, let's get back to what is important and assist our future cadets, candidates, applicants and parents. We mean squat in the long run. They will be the defenders of the nations. I mean absolutely nothing.
I only responded to this because I want and desire the acknowledgment that we respect women and homosexuals in the military...defending offensive jokes is wrong, hiding behind a shield that only SA grad get the meaning of the joke is not a justifiable defense. As women and same sexual right defendants we need to shut these condescending remarks down right now!
