Congrats to your DS for being appointed and for sharing the words of wisdom. My DS was EA waitlisted on 12/23/2015 and received his full appointment on 03/30/2016 and has already mailed back his acceptance to the Class of 2020. My fingers are crossed for all those still waiting. On previous threads I've said this, but it bears repeating. If your DS or DD doesn't receive an appointment off the waitlist to the Class of 2020 and CGA still remains their number 1 choice, I highly recommend supporting them to attend their civilian college choice and to mirror the 4th class academic requirements (this can be found on the CGA website) while getting the best grades possible and reapplying to CGA next year. No one should look at this decision as a year wasted, it should be looked at as a year invested in their future dreams.
Absolutely! Even though her Plan B is solid, we are going to remain hopeful each and every one of those 75 days!Having this waitlist thread will at least allow us to celebrate our CGA forum "family" members who make it off the waitlist for 2020.
Fingers crossed that it is all but understood that it is only as the opportunties open up.
2020 class still has 75 full days till R day, that is 75 days of opportunity to come off the waitlist !
Next Gen: Is there a list somewhere about papers to bring if appointed?
Is there a list somewhere about papers to bring if appointed?
All required paperwork is explained in the cadet handbook. The immunization record is a CG form that is provided (with many other forms) in the acceptance packet that you take to your medical professional. The Questionnaire for Investigation Processing (background check) is online. There is a fingerprinting requirement that for us proved challenging living in a large metropolitan area. The fingerprinting cards were ink type (class of 2018) and the police departments in this area all utilize digital fingerprinting. We have a CGIS office nearby and they were able to accommodate the fingerprinting.
