A couple of weeks after semester began, a $600.00 check was deposited into DS's bank account. That's it.
Agree with above.
Book money comes much earlier than tuition. Monthly stipend seems to be also on a different schedule, usually on time.
Tuition is its own animal, because there is an interaction between AROTC and the school's finance office. Cadet Command can wire a bulk transfer to the school, and that may not include the cadets' names that bulk money transfer for the semester/quarter needs to be applied to. So Finance has to go to ROTC admin for the official list and make the allocation into the individual students' accounts. Somehow, it's toward the end of the semester that the money gets allocated to the student's account with the school... this does not affect the student much, since the school knows the money is coming and doesn't (usually) put any Holds on the student's registration.
Usually those books are written by the prof....that is why they call it Publish or Perish in the collegiate world.
My pet peeve is his often they bring out a new edition, thus many times you cannot buy used.
You could always try to sell it back to the student populace at a reduced price. At least that way you'll have recouped some of that money to put towards more expensively overpriced books ....Or cannot sell back used books when finished because of new edition. Uggghhhhh!!!
What. You had to buy books in HS??thanks for the tips, especially PIMA and the rent a book suggestion. In our house our idea of redecorating is building a new book shelf. DS didnt even return his books for money while in high school...and I am a purger so this makes me crazy. So buying used books is the way to go. I looked up the sight you listed and they sell used books too, so THANKS!
