I was notified. I got accepted for first Session.
How were you notified?
Just for clarification..... DS applied for NASS and has not heard back. Does he submit a new application for 2024 that opened today? Thanks for any information you can provide.
This is on the USNA website when you click on the apply button. https://candidateinformation.usna.edu/ITSD/pcq/acawu013$.startupShould I expect any more information for the Naval Academy now that applications for the class of 2024 opened up?

It says, "NOTE: This is the Preliminary Application for admission to the United States Naval Academy. Please do not submit this application if you have already submitted a USNA Summer Seminar Application."
So how are new credentials, grades and standardized scores made available for USNA admissions to be taken into account to be considered a candidate if you can't update your preliminary application?
He should be able to start his class of 2024 application now. I'd reccomend getting as much of the basic information submitted asap so there is no need to worry about it later and he can focus on getting nominations and letters of rec when the time comes later this year. Hope that was helpful.
How were the initial scores, etc? If they are good enough to open up a candidate portal, then IMO would wait until May/June when other posters said that portals tend to open up and then you can update. If you are unsure, then the bottom of the screen said to contact USNA.
Also, there are a few threads on this forum that could help you. I see that you are a very new member. Use the search feature on the forum to see past discussions on this topic.
I know AFA had a button to click if you wanted to use the summer seminar for your pre-application and there was a few threads on advantages and disadvantages depending on current scores, etc.
Good luck.
You can find minimum requirements for becoming an official candidate. They are stated. So if you meet those, no need to do anything else. All updating, etc will be done going forward through the application phase, after becoming an official candidate.
I don't think USNA publishes its criteria for what qualifies as a official Candidate. There are a number for factors, including location and other demographics, but frankly I wouldn't expect that you would be "competitive" with those scores.
Question for you. So could we send the SAT scores, Transcripts (when available at the end of semester) without a candidate ID?How were the initial scores, etc?
