My apologies to all for any confusion I've caused - you (and others who corrected me" are correct. I confirmed with Admissions that SLE does not add points to the WCS, but Boys/Girls State does.Maybe things changed since 2017, but SLE didnt add to WCS but boys/girls state did.
Definitely worth while to go to SLE.My apologies to all for any confusion I've caused - you (and others who corrected me" are correct. I confirmed with Admissions that SLE does not add points to the WCS, but Boys/Girls State does.
For what it's worth, there are still advantages to SLE ... examples are:
- Candidates get to experience more of what it's like to be a cadet and decide if it's for them
- The Admissions Interview can be completed, so you're ahead of the game
- The CFA can be completed (but be ready!)
- It does give one an additional resume item and good talking point for MOC interviews.
Again, my apologies for the incorrect item I posted above - Go Army! And I sincerely hope we can kick this darn virus asap so '25 candidates can attend SLE, State, etc.!
I just really worry about how their applications will look with SAT's being cancelled, potential cancellations for Boys State, SS, and now missing his varsity spring sports captain season. Do we think the SA's will view the class of 2025 applications differently then in the past with all of the things they could be missing out on?
So, first week of April, I have heard zip from both USMA and USNA on the status of my application. Do I need to reach out? I am worried about reaching out with all that is going on in the world at the moment. I applied at the end of February and was hoping to hear back. I got an introductory email from an admissions officer recently but have not heard anything in the way of an acceptance or a rejection.
Thanks
If you are not accepted for SLE, you can always go on a day visit.Haven’t heard back from SLE yet, but if i do not get accepted, is there other opportunities to spend the night, candidate visit weekend, etc? If so how do you get invited or sign up?
