Great question. As has been discussed in the past - you now hold a very valuable scholarship. There are many stories on here about people calling up the PMS/ROO of a school that they are applying to and seeing if it can help.Thank you so much. Another question, since I know you are very knowledgeble, I know that the scholarship doesn't mean a guaranteed acceptance, so how can I use the scholarship to become accepted to my university?
Here is what my DS did. He was awarded a 4-YR on the 1st Board last year. He had already been accepted to 1 of his 3 schools. He sent a personal email to the PMS at the other 2 schools he was considering. Within a week - he had acceptance letters from both. I know in one case, the PMS went to the admissions office and lobbied on his behalf. He also played a major part in getting him admitted to the School of Engineering at a very prestigious (TAMU) engineering school. Not saying it works, but definitely worth a try. Don't send out a canned letter, tell the PMS why you want to attend the school and be a part of the battalion.
Yes -it matters at some schools.
