My status border just turned red which I presume means the decision is made. My status is still boarded/under consideration.
All the information about it is in your Additional Information tab. But what are you specifically confused by? There are a lot of moving parts to just explain everything. But ill try. Your 3 year scholarship begins sophomore year once you contract &pass DODMERB and the APFT. You can either, accept, decline, or transfer your scholarship to another school (but first you need to accept it to one of the 3). If I didn't answer your question, please be more specific. So today I was awarded a 3 year Advance Designee Scholarship to my top three choices...Clemson, Baylor, and Auburn. I am not familiar with this...can someone explain it to me? Thanks in advance.
Not sure why you started another AROTC 2nd Board thread, but look under your Additional Information folder and all the information is in there. You won a 3 year scholarship that will begin at the beginning of your sophomore year assuming that you complete all of the requirements to contract. Of your choices - Clemson has the best football team. Auburn has the best Campus and Baylor is in Waco,Texas - Auburn it is!
Well said.I just saw this from TAMU. Thought it was fitting. This is not the end of the road for anyone if you didn’t hear the news you were hoping for. There is another board. And you can earn scholarships once on campus. At my DS #1 choice ROO told him they notified a student in August who hadn’t won a national scholarship that they had one for him.
You should all be so proud of your commitment to this Country and for having the discipline and work ethic to be in the position you are in.
No, the only thing in the Additional Information folder is the generic information and instructions 6 page document that references the winner letter. Perhaps it still is waiting to be uploaded....It will be in your Additional Information folder, along with all the other information you need in order to accept, decline and transfer your scholarship.
Sorry - I think the winner letter is in your uploaded files page. Check thatNo, the only thing in the Additional Information folder is the generic information and instructions 6 page document that references the winner letter. Perhaps it still is waiting to be uploaded....
Take heart. You’ve done all you can. It’s now in someone else’s hands. There’s still one more round to go. As with anything, keep working on Plan B. And until a TWE actually shows up, don’t despair. Not much more you can do than that.I would love some insight. My daughter was boarded in October. She was not an award recipient for October or January. 29 ACT, perfect GPA, JROTC BC, accepted into Johns Hopkins (this is a blessing), PMS said she had an excellent interview and felt she would be a stand out. If anyone could provide us suggestions on where to go from here. Congratulations to the winners this time!
It sounds like your daughter has great stats. How was her fitness test? I assume it was great if she did JROTC. I can only tell you what I had if that helps at all. I took the most rigorous course load I could at my school (12 AP's and 6 dual credit classes, I was a multi-sport varsity athlete making it to states and medaling, a 30 ACT and I had leadership positions both in school and in my community. I do not have a perfect unweighted GPA (3.91) but I have a weighted GPA of 4.5 (though I know they go by unweighted). I bet she will get one at the next board.I would love some insight. Thank you! I found it.Sorry - I think the winner letter is in your uploaded files page. Check that
@MidCakePa is spot on and offers sage advice as usual. One thing I will add, and this goes for all of the candidates that do not get a scholarship offer, there are many ways to get to your end goal. The majority of scholarship dollars in the Army are campus based allocations. This is just one small step in a long journey with MANY different paths that all lead to the same end point.Take heart. Way to go. And yes, the MAJORITY (for the national board) of the scholarships are given board 3. I would be hopeful if you have great stats like your above @KBMom.It sounds like your daughter has great stats. How was her fitness test? I assume it was great if she did JROTC. We are in the same situation with slightly higher SAT scores. Have high hopes for third board or offer once she is on campus. With only 1200 +\- total scholarships given out this far (based on what I’ve read here) that leaves 60% of the scholarships remaining. Congratulations on Johns Hopkins. That is a huge achievement that your daughter should be very proud of.I would love some insight. My daughter was boarded in October. Take a look at the upload files tab - your winner letter is in there and will tell you everything you need to do. No hurry - you have plenty of time to accept the scholarship. Congrats.Where exactly do you accept your scholarship. I've looked at the status page and additional information section, but what is the exact name of the document that can have me claim that scholarship? Thank you
Thank you so much. Another question, since I know you are very knowledgeble, I know that the scholarship doesn't mean a guaranteed acceptance, so how can I use the scholarship to become accepted to my university?Take a look at the upload files tab - your winner letter is in there and will tell you everything you need to do. I think your daughter's stats look good. There are many things we don't see - interview notes, essays, CBEF. The CBEF is a surprisingly important component of the application.
Keep the chin up and hoping for good news on the next Board.
