Cooked 1.5 lbs of bacon on Saturday to "garnish" our Bloody Marys. It was thick-sliced bacon. However, one piece had not been sliced to the correct thickness, it was double thick. I decided that instead of trying to cook it with the rest, I would save it for the grill that evening. We cooked two prime, very thick, sirloins. Since we use charcoal to grill, we always cook other meats, which this time included several pork loin chops. Then, of course the single slice of bacon. For dinner, my DH topped each of our sirloins with half a slice of the grilled bacon. Delicious!
This picture does not do it justice. The pork loin chops are actually about 6 - 8 inch diameter, except for the stray piece or two (I sliced these from a whole loin that was on sale). The bacon strip was over 1/4-inch thick.
