Important matters concerning the existence of Humanity - BACON

Cooked 1.5 lbs of bacon on Saturday to "garnish" our Bloody Marys. It was thick-sliced bacon. However, one piece had not been sliced to the correct thickness, it was double thick. I decided that instead of trying to cook it with the rest, I would save it for the grill that evening. We cooked two prime, very thick, sirloins. Since we use charcoal to grill, we always cook other meats, which this time included several pork loin chops. Then, of course the single slice of bacon. For dinner, my DH topped each of our sirloins with half a slice of the grilled bacon. Delicious!
This picture does not do it justice. The pork loin chops are actually about 6 - 8 inch diameter, except for the stray piece or two (I sliced these from a whole loin that was on sale). The bacon strip was over 1/4-inch thick.

"...every sort of bacon treat you can imagine..."

I don't know about that, but it sure sounds good.

It is clear to me, that there are way too many french fries in this photo:

I posted this elsewhere, but it truly belongs here.

We finally made it to The Amish Market. For chocolate covered bacon. BTW, they also have white chocolate covered bacon. But is that really CHOCOLATE? That’s for another thread…

Don’t want to divert this 85 pages of bacon wonderment….but I’m perplexed about the Amish Market. I guess maybe I was expecting no electricity? Isn’t that a thing?

Got my bacon fix. That’s what matters. One piece was enough for 3 people (we also shared a stuffed pretzel and gooey roll).

I do not remember the fancy swirling of white chocolate when I got that stuff at the Amish Market.
They are getting really fancy!

Did you like it?

Bacon gets as close to universal approval as you can find these days. Oh sure, the various cardiology fanatics are out there, and some respectful but firm religious folk, but by and large most of the world can agree on bacon.
