Good Morning! I received a weird email saying spots had opened up for a USNA ‘Candidate Visit Day’. I filled out the google form as soon as I could, but I’m not entirely certain what this is or means. Is it a modified candidate visit weekend? Does anyone know what the schedule is like for it? Thank you!

I would think a schedule/details would be forthcoming after filling out the form.

Here is a link for a CVW. You can inquire if a CV day is different, and how. My GUESS is that it is a day, vs overnights. But there is a chat bubble available, when staffed.

Last Spring USNA was doing a modified CVW, which involved an "inside the ropes" visit to the Yard but no overnight stay. I believe it was hosted by recent graduates rather than Midshipmen.

I haven't seen any official word from Admissions this Fall, although the question has been asked. Perhaps the invitations are the answer, and they will be continuing the CVW "light" program.

On the email I got, you could sign up for either what you described or a traditional CVW.

Correct, Admissions circulated guidance to BGO's since my post (I think it was Thursday-Friday), Both traditional and "light" CVW's are being offered this Fall. Traditional CVW requires vaccine. Ask your BGO for details.

My son just got invited to an overnight visit and the registration was through the Eventbrite website. Vaccination required. They all had an option for a 3 hour tour vs an overnight stay.

Also, anyone else get a confirmation email from USNA (not the receipt thing) for the wrong date? I sent them an email about it but was curious if anyone else had that problem.

It seems like only yesterday, but my son went to a CVW back in 2018 and had a blast with the Plebes he was situated with.
It is an excellent way to get an albeit brief glimpse of life in The Brigade and on The Yard.

CVW was a great experience and I am fortunate to have had the opportunity to do it. I went back in 2018 and it feels weird that I will be escorting a drag this year...

Can I ask where your SAT, ACT, your home state and GPA are for the folks that were invited to overnight visits?
Thanks in advance

Sure! I'm in FL, my ACT is a 31, and my weighted gpa is a 4.5577 with my unweighted being a 3.908

Thank You, I was just wondering why some folks got invites some didn’t. My composite
ACT was a 33.
