CGA really looks at applications from a holistic standpoint, and everyone brings something unique. They do value STEM, but not everyone is a STEM major. You will still have to take math and science classes, because everyone graduates with a bachelor of sciences degree, even if your major is government. Have you already applied? If not, you will need a math teacher recommendation, so get to know that teacher who will write it. Know why you want to go to CGA. What kind of career are you looking for in the Coast Guard? Did you apply for AIM? Remember that academics is only one piece of the admissions puzzle. There is so much information on the CGA website about the different majors, and even cadet blogs that will give you insight into what it's like to be at the Academy. Put your best self forward, and that is all you can control. Good luck to you!
