Questions, Chatter, Congrats for the 2026 USAFA Appointment Thread

Are rejection letters also being sent out together with the appointments? I'm starting to lose a bit of hope : (

It was 3 years ago my we thought for sure we would of heard something by now and we were leaving for a cruise for his senior year spring break. My son and I spent a week on the ship knowing we weren’t going to check our phones (when we take a family trip phones go in the safe in my room). Anyway, as soon as we got back in the states he turned his phone on and you guessed it, NOTHING !! The waiting absolutely sucks I never figured out anything to do to get around it. Try not to waste the opportunities you have to enjoy what’s right in front of you, friends, family, vacations, senior year festivities. Everything happens for a reason, your journey isn’t the same as anyone else’s. My son is now a C2C living his dream. Mid April, the decision came in the form of the TWE. Three weeks later at his HS graduation the email from God came, you’re received an Appointment. All that story is in another thread and I’ll repost that after the big wave of TWEs come out. Good luck to all, don’t dwell on what might happen and take everything as it comes.

Seems odd to get a TWE this early...maybe medical or no nomination? We went through this two years ago (no appointment) and its no less stressful round 2 for DS2. If you don't get this round, more will come as some will decline or choose another academy (if fortunate to be in an area to be able to choose more than one for a nomination). Ya'll should be proud to have made it this far, a high percentage didn't. Regardless what happens, if you made it this far you will be successful wherever you end up. DS1 is in his alternate Plan A and doing very well...and in some ways better as he has more free time and still heading to the AF through ROTC.
Best to all, keep your heads high

I also have not heard anything yet. Maybe they will send out more appointments next week?
I think they will. Some candidates will find out when the portals update if MOCs didn't call, but this seems to be the beginning of appointment wave. I imagine that we'll see several weeks of this. *I have no inside knowledge, just my opinion.

DS saw a former lacrosse teammate at a USMA Founder's Day dinner a few weeks ago and they were both waiting to hear from USAFA. He wants to find out if his teammate also got an appointment this week but is nervous about texting him just in case he hasn't (yet). I figure he can give it a couple of weeks and then text him.

NJ applicant dad here. Wondering if any appointments were made for NJ applicants. NJ nominating process seemed to lag the rest of the country. My son received his MOC nomination notification at the very end of January.

We’re in the NJ 10th congressional district.
I am the cadet candidate in 6th congressional district, the DS of sdonwad. I received my MOC Nominations to USAFA and USNA from Rep. Pallone in December, and the very next day I received an appointment to USNA (probably because of my LOA and that USNA maybe faster than USAFA), via an email from the staffer of Pallone. I got my second USNA nomination via phone call from Menendez in January. Still waiting on Appointment from USAFA.

Congrats on your USNA appointment and good luck on USAFA.

If you look at the USAFA Appointment list, press Ctrl+F and it'll give you a word search bar. Look up NJ and it'll take you to all the ones listed there.

Hate to say this but it's not early for the cycles. Last year we had TWE in The first week of march with the first wave. It's normal to get TWE in the first wave. However keep heads up because most of the falcons revieved a TWE then their scholarship a few weeks later!
