Hopeful USMA Class of 2028 : a place to play the waiting game together.

You said you had a nom in your post. Needing a nome as a recruited athlete is a whole different discussion. I was responding to him being 3Q with nom.

You can use the search function and read tons of past discussion about recruited athletes. He will still need to fulfill the conditions of his LOA.
DS got a nomination, LOA fulfilled already. I’ve been lurking the forums for awhile now. Thank you for the many informative posts that you’ve done.

I just checked my portal and saw this!!! Extremely grateful, I have a tough decision between USMA and USNA now. Didn't receive an email or a phonecall from my MOC, just checked my portal as I do and the offer was there! Super grateful!!!

Congratulations!! We just received the same on the portal, what a great thing to wake up to! Your tough decision is a wonderful position to be in, you deserved it!

DD is 3Q with nom from Senator and Representative. She only scored a 30 on her ACT and I've been reading these forums so much that I'm worried her score is too low. Need some truth. What are the chances of an appointment?

I can’t tell you your chance of appointment nor can anyone else on this forum. We don’t know who you are competing against in your slate or your stats. Even if we did it wouldn’t mean much. A 30 on the act would place her in the 50th percentile so average for the appointed class. If she is strong elsewhere her chances are very good. If she is on the NWL over 50 percent of people gain appointment (changes based on the year).

That's about where my DS is and they have him marked in the system as a "competitive candidate" .... but he's also taking 7 APs this year, including 2 math (calc bc & stats) & 2 sciences (physics & environmental). He had AP Chemistry last year. I think it's more than just the SAT/ACT # for the application and then you have the whole slate thing... no way to know chances. It's driving me nuts too.

My DD is telling me to relax. I'm definitely more on edge than she is. Where would I look to see the "competitive candidate" that you speak of?

FFR told him during the interview that something was marked in the system and it was listed on a CFA retake letter he received last week. It's something only on their side, I guess.
