USAFA Waiting Page C/O 2028

Perhaps this falls under the heading of "Captain Obvious," but after arranging this list in date order, it's became obvious that the vast majority appointments are coming on Mondays -- 12/11, 12/18, 12/25, 1/15, 1/29, and 2/5 were all Mondays. That accounts for something like 80% of the appointments, and several of the others were listed as the following day.
I believe the admissions board meets every Monday up until the end of February when they start appointing more people. I saw the same thing.

Are there candidates with LOAs and all green on their USAFA Portals (including a SEN/MOC nom) still waiting on their appointments? I would think they would be USAFA's "low hanging fruit" and have appointments by now.

My DD falls into that category and received hers this morning. She was waiting on a nomination which MOC posted on 1/31.

Congrats to your DD!!!

I guess that is where I'm confused. Why did it take that long? According to the Self-Updating List of Appointments, candidates without LOAs are getting their appointments before those with LOAs. I just thought those LOAs would get expedited Appointments. Not sure how many with LOAs are still waiting??? My DD received an LOI which is different level of consideration.

Even with an LOA the admissions team still has to decide the best place to charge their appointment. There are lots of moving parts such as other slates, Presidential nominations, and superintendent nominations that may be available to some candidates. They’re figuring out the best place to charge each candidate to build an optimum class.

Here is my advice from a 2 timer parent….don’t read too much into anything! I stalked this page last year trying to get an idea about when and how things would work, and it never happened like I thought it would or within a certain timeframe lol. Ultimately my DD got a FFS late in the game and attended this fall. We are back for round 2 and hoping for an appointment this year after her second time applying. There are so many moving parts we don’t see and you can make yourself crazy trying to guess what will happen and when. Stay positive, have your plan B in order and, unfortunately, wait.
Good luck to everyone!!!!

FFS?

This is my second year applying and I got an email last week saying that USAFA has requested a medical waiver on my behalf. Since I didn't get this email last year, even though they claimed I was a "very competitive candidate" I am feeling more hopeful that I possibly have a shot this year. Is anyone in similar circumstances or have been in this position before?? The whole waiver process is honestly rather confusing, so any advice is appreciated.

If USAFA requested a waiver on your behalf that is a great sign and step in the right direction. There are still no guarantees but it means you are still in the running! Keep working on plan B and hope for good news! 🤞🏻
