Hi everyone,

I just learned today that I earned an appointment to the USNA. I lost my 💩 for a while, but now that I've calmed down, it has me wondering what's next.

What are the next steps for admitted candidates?

Thank you for your time and effort!

Congratulations! hoping to join you on that 💩losing train soon!

USMA grad here, but def check the portal/website once you've calmed down a bit. Definitely don't want to miss accepting your admission or missing any other documents you need to submit/read. Besides that, enjoy the rest of your time with family and friends before you leave for the summer. Stay healthy, fit, and enjoy the last little bit of freedom you have. Once everything starts during the summer, it'll be busy

concur with what has been said. Mid-April the permit to report (PTR) will be release with more forms. Congrats!

.
Go outside and shout and howl at the moon like a crazy person …

Seriously … celebrate the moment, shake-off all the tinglyness … then tell everybody, and don’t get injured …

Congrats!!

First thing? Shop for some gear. Mom and dad, too.

Isn't it the BEST feeling?

Serious answer, is now you can book your stay for Iday. Always refundable. But figuring out what that looks like for your family. Search threads for discussion about booking your stay and transportation (book your flight seperate for reimbursement).

And have your parents join the USNAAA official state parents club for your parents to get their questions answered, and have a great group of support for them.

There's a new "hurry up and wait." Eventually, you'll get your Permit to Report Packet, that will have all of the info you need.

Agree with above poster about getting reservations for I-Day but would add to get reservations for PPW now. Lots of threads on both topics.

Other than that, finish strong academically (no senioritis). Keep up with your physical training. Don't do something stupid, such as DUI, drugs of any kind, criminal mischief.

Relax and savor the moments!

Lose that one. You need to start getting used to
Go Navy
Beat Army
Or both together. . .

While the goat is our mascot, the mids are not referred to as "goats"
Will do. I just started using it because my BGO always signs off his emails with it. Thanks for the heads up 😂

May I have more information about parents club, please.

Find your club on the map, and click on it for an email. Reach out to them.

They will have welcome events for your plebe, etc. it’s a great source of fun, info and events.

Candidate Information

If you have gone through the admissions process and have accepted an appointment in the Class of 2028, you should receive a letter from the Office of the Provost in your Permit to Report (PTR) packet (typically mailed at the beginning of April).

Accepted candidates for the USNA Class of 2028 are required to provide USNA with important academic background information (including completion of some assessments/exams) to facilitate their proper placement in courses at the start of the academic year. Accepted candidates will be provided access to the Academic Background System (ABS) in order to submit this required information.

Congrats! It will go so fast, IDay and then commissioning will happen before your mom can blink. Ask me how I know.

Spend time with family and friends. Meaningful time. Stay healthy. Be smart. Be present.
