Army ROTC 2023-2024 3rd Board

I've been checking more often than I'm willing to admit but now DS password has expired and he needs to reset it before I can get my click fix on again!
I was Glued to it last year. This year was the Dodmerb portal. But, now DD fully qualified and I can let her adult without me sending texts veiled with threats to make sure follow up for all medical was done.

There is some guy named Johnny in the server room right now holding the plug. (Airplane movie reference)

Finally got access to my kid's portal. I noticed on the File Upload section where it shows all of the docs that have submitted, a couple of items have gold stars next to them in the far left column. Any idea why there are gold stars? I searched the site and there was only one reference to them, but no one answered why they are there. This other poster had gold stars on different items than on my kid's.

great question, I have wondered the same. My DS has a 3 year scholarship and has gold stars on HS transcript, College Transcript, SAT scores and resume. He doesn't have a star on his SAT score which was a better score than his ACT.

It says at the top - those are required items.

Please enter ALL requested information. The

Required documents that have not been submitted or have been rejected by Headquarters will display a Red "X" indicator. Required documents that you have submitted, but have not yet been approved, will have a Yellow "!". Required documents that have been approved will have a Green Check.

no mention of "gold star"

It should be a star not an X (that's just the way it copied over). It says this at the top of that page.

not on my page, it has a yellow !. My DS file is approve and all items checked off, the gold star is all the way to the left next to his green checkmarks

My son has those stars by High School Transcript, College Transcript & Resume. Interesting, I’m not sure I noticed before. 🤔

Ah! Says on top the star denotes a required field.
I don't think that's it. Applicants seem to have different things starred... Usually a required field is a red or black asterisk, not a gold star, ya know?

No it's required elements. But if you fulfill a required element through another source it may not be starred.

For example my DS's ACT score was starred when he self reported. But a later retest that was automatically reported directly to the Army from ACT superceded that score and the "electronic score" as it says in the portal does not have a star.

Anyway, not really sure why we are discussing this. It's not that big a deal. Just killing time while we anxiously await board results.

Appreciate the clarification! (And yes, definitely killing time.🤣)

Ah. I see it now. Thank you!! That's terrible UI. (source: I'm a user researcher!)

You guys might appreciate this...I'm waiting to make vacation plans for next year till I find out if DS stays with a 3-year (which is awesome) or gets a 4-year. Just how far ($$) can I travel.
I'm doing the same thing before I send in an enrollment deposit! Not as exciting as a vacation, TBH.
