Hello everyone,
just wanted to see what ya'll thought and where I should improve. Soon I am going to take a mock CFA, these are all done at seperate times, apart from the crunches and situps. here are my current scores
5:57 Mile
73 crunches
42 pushups
11 pullups
Have'nt tried B-Ball throw yet.
Have'nt tried shuttle-run yet.

I'd probably estimate my b-ball throw to be maybe 75-80 feet, not sure though. I'll try shuttle run and ball throw soon, and maybe add the scores here. Something to note is that I am a freshman in High School, so I have plenty of time to improve, it's just that I'd like to make sure I am on the right track to have an extremely competitive CFA.
Thank you!

The individual results are OK. However, there is a fatigue factor. Thus, suggest practicing the elements with the same time factor as the CFA. That allows you to see how much you tire and on which events and adjust accordingly.

As a freshman, you have plenty of time. Great that you're thinking about this early. Get involved in organized sports, especially those that involve running, which will help you achieve and maintain a high level of fitness.

Finally, even maxing the CFA won't make up for an o/w subpar "package." Don't forget to focus on academics and leadership as you move through h.s.

Good start but keep in @usna1985 advice on being well rounded. When I applied for appointment to USMA in the dark ages, I had great academics/leadership/recommendations, my DODMERB flagged me for minor issue and my mediocre CFA scores could not gain me a waiver.

Fast forward to DS experience and he had academics, passed DODMERB, and did well on CFA. All three academies had him redo his pushups as they said his proctor (retired, full bird Col, USAFA grad) did not monitor right. Then USMA wanted him him to do them a third time but by then he did not get nomination to USMA only AFA and USNA. Bottom line, even you think you ace the CFA you may have to do it again. So second piece of advice--take the CFA early to give opportunity to redo if academies request it.

From my experience... comparing your individual pr's vs your performance doing them all together on the real CFA...
You'll get about 90% as many pushups. Your mile will be 20 seconds slower. Everything else is roughly unaffected from my experience.

Assuming average shuttle run / basking ball throw, youll pass. I actually had the exact same pushups/mile on my real CFA.

Try a mock one using the same time intervals for rest and time to complete each activity. That's the only way to really know how you will do at the moment.

I recommend aiming for the 'averages' published for each CFA event, and you will be around the top 25% of scores. I advise all of my students to use this table from USAFA. All of the SAs publish results in the same 'ballpark' for averages.

EXERCISEAVG FOR MEN
Basketball Throw68'
Pull-Ups13
Shuttle Run8.7 sec
Modified Sit-Ups (crunches)81
Push-Ups61
One Mile Run6:31

USNA doesn't publish averages for the CFA, though the scores above would certainly be passing -- and then some!

Candidates can infer averages / passing scores for USNA from what others post. But that is only anecdotal. Also, USNA doesn't view CFA scores in a vacuum. For example, a highly-ranked swimmer or diver might not have superb run times -- and that would likely be ok. Conversely, if a candidate has no or very limited organized sports, the CFA may be looked at more closely as the best / only indicator of physical fitness.
