Someone posted on one of the other academy forums that they knew that college reapplicants were usually the last to be evaluated. In other words they do most of them last unless there was an loa. Does anyone know anything about college reapplicants at USNA?

As I couriously wait, I second that question. Since USNA is rolling admissions and college reapplicants submit their transcripts late in the game, then wouldn’t that make us the last to be reviewed? Either way April 15th is the “golden day” per se.

I know we know April 15 is the day but I’m just curious. Maybe one of the BGOs knows this answer!

I am a college re-applicant and I received an appointment without an LOA on 27 Feb 19. I have a friend who goes to my same University who received an appointment to USMA a week or two before that date without an LOA. I don't really think that college applicants are picked last but rather that they usually get picked out of the National Pool which would result in them receiving appointments later on.

Stop and think. Re-applicants still have to get MOC (usually) nominations, so they can't resolve a slate without reviewing a re-applicants package (if one is on the slate). Once they have the first semester grades of the re-applicant AND they are past the application due date, then they are good to review it, just like any other application. They can't set aside the applications of all re-applicants to review them last, because then the whole damn system doesn't work.

Thats what I figured, I'm still set on the April 15th date. It was just a question that slipped by in my head and made me think a little since USNA is rolling admissions. Either way, still in it until a TWE.

in our district there has only been 1 appointment that we know of and he is a college reapp and I believe he was appointed in Feb, so I don't think that they are looking at them last. since no one else seems to have heard then Im going on the assumption that only 1 person from our district slate gets the appointment this year. I got that info at the MOC celebration night about 2 weeks ago.

They don't start looking at college applicants until after first semester grades are in, which is typically no later than end of January. Beyond that, I'm not aware that they are looked at "later" than anyone else.
