Most of the winners from the first board had over a 1400 SAT/ 32 ACT, my DS was just a tic under that cutoff. Majority do very well on the PFA, 4.0 GPA, lots of leadership and extra-curriculars, with great interviews. There will be plenty with these stats in this board as well.Anybody here with a 4-year scholarship from the first board, is it allowed/would you mind sharing your stats?
I would say even higher SAT/ACT scores for winners in the first board. Agree with 4.0s and max or near max of the PFA and very high scores on the interview. With only 300 scholarships given out the cut line in the first board is extremely high. Most of the winners from the first board had over a 1400 SAT/ 32 ACT, my DS was just a tic under that cutoff. Oh definitely higher, I just meant that the low end cutoff on the first board looked to be around 1400/32.I would say even higher SAT/ACT scores for winners in the first board. I am aware, I just hope it comes back up this week, because I am waiting for this letter to include in an update for one of my deferred schools.Refer to earlier messages - the website is down for the count right now, and probably for the foreseeable future, given it’s the Army.
That's a wonderful story! Congratulations to you! What branch are you headed into?Good luck to all, I remember four years ago being boarded for all three of the boards and going through this forum all day to see if things changed for people. I squeaked out a three year scholarship on the last board somehow, and here we are four years later in my last semester in ROTC with my air assault wings and first choice of branch!
I branched armor this past December. That's a wonderful story! Congratulations to you! What branch are you headed into?
Yes, it's tough as a parent waiting to hear about my DS. Knowing this delay is increasing the anxiety, but there's still no guarantee of getting a scholarship. Might have to wait now, and wait again for the March board.
Still, I am encouraged by many posts I have seen from people who got nothing in October or January but then were offered even 4-year scholarships in March. So, I would encourage everyone not to lose heart.
Definitely is! As anxious as it can make us feel it is definitely a little exciting knowing that an hour, day, week, sometime soon we'll know where we stand with our futures (as parents or prospective cadets). This is such a brutal process! Ugh.
