Not a positive update for NROTC scholarship status: item still processing

I believe we probably had the same recruiter in the mid-Atlantic region. The whole experience has been very, very frustrating and exhausting. They kept losing the already submitted documents and the applicant had to recollect and resubmit them again and again, including transcript, references...

    In-state university required for NROTC?

I'm not sure now, but I remember she did show me the page where she had to place our in-state public among the top three and only then she could proceed to the next section. She would otherwise select all five OOS schools. I guess those whose applications are currently active are in a better...

    In-state university required for NROTC?

My daughter applied for the NROTC scholarship this year and was a winner from the 1st board recently. As far as I can remember, she had to list an in-state public university among the top three in a five-school list. It's a requirement, at least for this year.

    Navy ROTC Board results

@MullenLE recently posted that there are about 200 scholarship recipients each from AFROTC and AROTC after the 1st board. Not sure about the usual percentage of applicants who are awarded the scholarship from the 1st board.

    AFROTC Type 1 !!!

That's my understanding as well. You are only able to accept the scholarship with a letter of admission in your hand, which could happen as soon as in December or most likely in March/April next year.

    AFROTC Type 1 !!!

Her top 3 choices are MIT, Duke and Yale, but she is actually happy to go to any of the schools listed. She just feels truly honored to be awarded the scholarship! Good luck to your DD down the road!

Boarded/Under Consideration after the first two days of October board?

The messages under this thread are all about Army ROTC, and the one you mentioned should be from AFROTC. I believe once an applicant starts the AFROTC application, it triggers the system to send notifications to the schools on the applicant's list. That's why the detachments reached out to your...

    NROTC Change in status

At least in our case, the applicant has been trying to communicate with the coordinator with numerous Emails and phone calls since August.

    NROTC Change in status

Good luck to the applicants in the pipeline! Your messages regarding the status change also confirms that my DD did not get boarded for this round, although she submitted her application and completed interview by early June. The regional coordinator just wouldn't upload the provided documents...

    NROTC Document Uploading

No progress at all. No document uploading and no responses. Navy was my DD's first choice of branch when she started the application, and she spent tremendous amount of time on preparing for the AFA and polishing the essays. She even reached out to several midshipmen and managed to talk to a...

Weird text from Navy ROTC selection board, do I trust it?

Exactly. Once the applicant activates the application in the portal, the NROTC regional coordinator usually would reach out to the applicant and collect required documents. I think the role of this position would be to help applicants and guide them through the application process. My DD...

Weird text from Navy ROTC selection board, do I trust it?

Why are you guys so lucky to have supportive local recruiters who would reach out to you? My daughter's local recruiter never responds to her email or phone inquiries/concerns. The applicant's interview results and transcripts provided months ago have yet to be uploaded as the 1st board deadline...

    NROTC Document Uploading

Thank you Go Dores! There was a staff change in the local recruiting office, which is in possession of the aforementioned documents . We've been very understanding and patient so far; however, if the status still does not change as the deadline draws near, the next help probably has to be from...

    NROTC Document Uploading

Thank you Kinnem! We thought about some of the scenarios you described during the summer and waited until September to ask this question. This is indeed a very unusual time for most of us and wish the best for the ROTC applicants.

    NROTC Document Uploading

My daughter completed her NROTC officer interview in early June and submitted her official transcript in the middle of July. The NETFOCUS portal shows that these two document are still pending (the rest of the application was submitted in May). Is this document upload waiting time normal? The...
