    NSI - support for parents

NSI crud is no joke...most of our kids came home and coughed for weeks. Some with diagnosable sicknesses, some just sick.

    NSI - support for parents

As a mom who went through this last summer, I can empathize! Great advice from Capt MJ. I would highly encourage you to connect with other NROTC parents at your child's school. Mine has a large unit, but it's nice to be able to share pictures with parents, etc. when we are on campus. We live...

Choosing Texas A&M Corps Army Company

There may still be some spots to take advantage of Spend the Night with the Corps. My son did one last year the very end of April. That definitely helped to solidify his decision.

Choosing Texas A&M Corps Army Company

My son is in P-2 (Navy/Marine), so if you're looking outside of Army, it's a great outfit! P-2 is co-ed, but the vast majority are male cadets. Their all-male fish buddy class has 4 of 15 on contract and quite a few seeking contract. They were 2nd place overall in the corps competition, the...

    Texas A&M C/O 2026 Thread

Hello, My son is finishing up his freshman year. He LOVES tamu, the corps and his outfit is P-2. It is a co-ed outfit, but his buddy class was all male. They are a well-rounded outfit with upperclassmen serving as Ross Volunteers, corps leaders and my son was in FDT this year. They had...

Cheapest Cost University or College per ROTC Branch

TAMU offers the Patriot Scholarship for contracted cadets, which covers room and most of meal plan. You are responsible for uniforms, but there is a refund for contracted cadets in good standing the spring semester. Honestly, it is basically a full scholarship. Feel free to PM me for specific...

New Student Indoctrination and unit arrival questions NROTC NSI

My son used this for Scouts and found it invaluable when breaking in boots (for him, even better than moleskin/blister bandaids): https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B008FNHF8O/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1

New Student Indoctrination and unit arrival questions NROTC NSI

My son attended NSI last year and was sent a packing list with a few required items such as sweats; I can't remember what else...but it wasn't much as it all needed to fit in a backpack. He literally did not use a single item, so I'm guessing your son wouldn't be allowed to use his own...
