VAMOM -- you could be talking about my son. He will be joining the VT Corp of Cadets, AFROTC, and will be in the School of Engineering and plans on majoring in Aerospace Engineering. We are from FL, he will be a very long way from home, and only 17 for the first 4 months. :mad: :eek:

And for AFROTC, are recipients "assigned" to a certain school like with NROTC, or can it be used anywhere with an AFROTC det? If it is a type 7 it can only be used for a school that charges instate tuition.

Univ. of FL and Boston U -- technically In his heart there is only one choice, he had to put 5 choices on his app so he put schools with Aerospace engineering. Once he visited Va Tech he knew there were no other schools for him.

He was awarded the scholarship to North Carolina State, but wants to switch to Virginia Tech. He actually said when he saw the update, "that's nice but I am going to Tech".

For those that had the blank after Selection Status last week, my son's status was updated today. He got a 4 year, but at his 4th choice school. Good luck to those still waiting. :thumb::thumb:

Status Update ***BLANK*** Checked DS status, and where it used to say "your application....."(can't recall actual statement) it is now blank. It now looks like this: The NSTC Selection/Placement Office has received your application. Missing Items All required items have been processed...

The letter my DS received on Saturday stated that the letter needed to be returned by 2/28. It also stated that he needed to decide if he would accept the Type 7 or wanted to change it to a 3 yr Type 2. He is still awaiting other offers, and is hoping for a 4 yr. OOS scholarship.

Great question!!! Is acceptance of an offer binding? Can you accept on ROTC scholarship, and if another is offered later, rescind the first offer?? Would love some advise from all of the "experts" on this forum! Thanks in advance.

My son's SAT was 1370 ACT 33 and 4.7 weighted GPA.
