Don't get too in your head about other people's statistics. The Academy has its process and you just have to trust it. It's an accomplishment in itself to make it this far in the application process. Good luck and I hope to see you on the appointment thread soon!

There are far too many perfect applicants to where they can't take them all every year. The best way to get accepted is to show them you are determined and apply again. No matter what your DD does she seems to have plenty of options where she can thrive outside of the Academy. Good luck to you!

So basically I was checking my portal around 10:30 this morning and upon refresh it went straight from pending to turned down. I think the portal times out after a set amount of time and makes you log back in.

As the title hints at, I was considering going into marine reserves. I heard it is possible to do the reserves and then do Nrotc. Is there any way you could apply for the scholarship through this route? If so, what would be the benefits of doing so?

Nope. There is a chance they haven't even reviewed your MOC slate yet. It's been slow and we are all waiting still. My advice would be to just get excited about plans B and C until you hear back from the Academy.

I am also interested in this and have looked into it a little. I am a first-degree black belt in MMA and a green belt in jiu-jitsu (green is the highest youth rank). I haven't looked into jiu-jitsu in particular but I noticed in their club list they even offer things like Marine Martial Arts.
