2010 INDOC Photo Thread (Class of 2014)

Thank you, thank you, thank you. Found my DS in the recent waterfront photos. You did great - deepsea.

Can't thank all the parents the have posted pictures of the parade yesterday! Wow, what a difference 2 weeks make! They look so great in their uniforms.... Makes a momma proud!

Where are you deepsea? Any new pics? of the 402?

Sorry- I've got more than the class of '14 to worry about! Spent the last two days aboard Summerwind with 14 of the Waterfront Trainers who did a great job teaching sailing, seamanship, safety, engineering, firefighting, knots, rowing, and ship operations to the class of 2014. You folks can't imagine the hours these folks put in teaching what they love. We had 26 Waterfront trainers voluntarily give up their summer break to work indoc this year. While we were out on Summerwind, the rest of the trainers, and some staff went offshore fishing, and came back with a 200 lb yellowfin tuna! Stand by for pics....

Thank you Mr. Lew, I found my DS. I really appreciate you taking the photographs and posting them.

Its settled. I'm selling that fly fishing gear & going out with the KPer's next time. And to think I was doing back flips over a nothing 6 lb. rainbow. To heck with that. I want to go try my hand at monster fish out to kill me. :thumb:

Glad the opportunity was there Deepsea. Looked like a FANTASTIC well deserved break.

:worship:Thanks for all of the great pictures Deepsea and a huge shout out to your great team at the waterfront. They provided some of the best memories of KP Indoc without a doubt. Their effort and generous donation of their time was greatly appreciated. I am sure all of the parents and friends on the forum would agree!

Well stated USMMAsoccermom. I totally agree. Deepsea, we can't thank you enough for taking the time to take & post all those pictures. It means more than you can imagine for us parents to be able to see our PC's actually smiling and know they're doing OK. You all do a great job. I know that Waterfront is my PC's favorite part of the day. Many thanks to you and your fellow Waterfront Trainers!

Yup, another big THANK YOU to deepsea and his staff. In addition to taking care of all the other Waterfront activities he takes pictures and videos and posts them for us to see. I'm willing to bet that "photographer" was not in the job description when he signed on.

Every time we speak with DS he mentions how much he loves the Waterfront.

Thanks again!

THANK YOU!!!! :thumb:

Videos from Waterfront Competitions today.......before the storm hit.

Pictures from Waterfront Competitions and from after the storm. Amazing to see our Waterfront Midshipman handle a challenge today- 340 plebes at the waterfront moved safely to Yocum Sailing Center, the waterfront officers and trainers responding in fast rescue boats to tow in the monomoys that had been anchored in preperation for the monomoy race. 70+ knots of wind, 5' breaking waves, and salt spray so intense there was zero visibility, but they were able to pull 4 of 5 monomoys off the rocks. It is incredible to see their seamanship skills and training kick-in and calmly and professionally handle a very intense situation!

Storm

Couldn't believe how quickly that storm appeared. I had gone to Kings Point earlier in the day for mass and then to visit relatives. It was such a beautiful morning. Then, while crossing the Throgs Neck Bridge heading North to go home I watched the storm transcend on the area. I had to pull over under an over pass as the wind & rain was intense, with no visibility and tossing items into the roadway. I could only imagine how it was over on the waterfront. Although, due to the pictures I can see the storm was quite powerful. Thank you to all the waterfront officers and trainers that moved everyone to safety. :thumb: I am sure my ds will have a story tell about this afternoon!

I have been luck to be off of work for the summer so I have been able to do a lot of looking that will change in a few weeks but I have loved every minute of this forum.
