patience... you'll never learn that better than in the military. dont worry so much about anything USAFA related and live it up while you can.. i promise you, you'll be much happier if you have no regrets once you get here...
 
Wait, I don't know what that means actually... what happens in February?
 
I think it means that the rest of our I-Day stuff will be coming in the mail. I think.
 
the hellcats squadron commander for beast this summer is in my squad, she's real cool. :D
 
Hey guys....

hey guys, I just got my LOA and getting my nomination this week, so I'm hoping the appointment is in the bag. Oh and just double checking....are all you guys going to USAFA, USMA, or USNA??? I'm heading towards the class of 2013 at USAFA. So, if you guys are going there, I would love to meet some acquiantances before hand! I can't wait!

This is the "USAFA" section of the forum so everybody on the appointment list above you should be heading to I-Day with you if all goes according to plan. I see you live in So Cal. Where do you happen to be? Private message me if you don't want to say it out loud.
 
Welcome to the site, Dan. Are you going to orientation? If so, check out the Orientation 2013 thread, and add yourself to the list.
 
umm....I think I am but my nomination hasn't been updated yet, so just waiting for it to clear before I sign up. So yes I will Be attending orientation, just don't know when yet.
 
It's almost better for you, Dan, to not get the Offer yet... those of us that did just can't wait (well, for me at least)
 
My parents say I missed the call from MOC about my nom by 5 minutes :thumbdown:. Oh well, I got the letter in the mail way before he called anyways. I wouldn't worry, Dan. It'll come :thumb:
 
umm...not sure what a conditional appt??? does that mean a Letter of Assurance maybe??? Well everyone, I got a call at home while I was out work from my congressman's office and said that they might have good news.....So I'm calling ASAP tomorrow morning!!! Cross your fingers! lol
 
Dan, are you from CA district 36? Because my son said he received a call late this afternoon from our rep's office with nomination news.
 
Ok so here's my situation: I received an LOA a couple of months ago and a congressional appointment last Thursday. If I'm not mistaken I should be receiving an offer of appointment, but on my online application my status has changed from Letter of Assurance to Candidate. Is it supposed to do that?
 
i think i remember last year where it switched from LOA to candidate because they were about to swith it to appointment offered.
 
Weston - changing back to 'Candidate' is a good thing. Same thing happened to my son. If I remember timelines correctly in DS case, status changed to 'candidate' on a Wednesday. Son called his admissions officer with questions on what was happened on Friday - he indicated DS package would be reviewed again following Monday. Appt. package arrived the Thursday after that. Status didn't change to 'Appt Offered' until the following week.
