2013 Appointments

Ok so here's my situation: I received an LOA a couple of months ago and a congressional appointment last Thursday. If I'm not mistaken I should be receiving an offer of appointment, but on my online application my status has changed from Letter of Assurance to Candidate. Is it supposed to do that?

Thats funny that you bring this up. The same thing happed to me and I freaked out. But like everybody has been saying, it will change to Appointment Offered very soon.

Yeah this whole process is just nerve racking, but I guess I'll see y'all at BCT coming up.

You bet. Are you going to Orientation? If so, add yourself to the Orientation 2013 thread

edit: I already asked you that didn't I. And you said yeah, you just don't know when yet didn't you. Lol

More than likely. My parents are dying to see the campus. I'll sign up once I accept the offer and add the date too.

Finally got the Nom!

Hi Gang!

I just got notified today that I got the Principal Nom. from my MOC!!!!! I am sooooooo thankful and relieved!!!!

For those who have appts, did you notice the status change online first or did you receive you package first?

Im in!!

Just got word from MOC this morning about my nom and I got it! So, I should have secured an appointment with LOA+DODMERB+NOM! Ya ya!! Cya at orientation!

Also, wondering where to sign up for orientation and what weekend is best?? lol.

humorous cruel mail

kid has a couple nominations, silly good scores, nice cfa - blah blah blah

So today he gets an envelope from USAFA - thinking very happy thoughts. When he gets home from cleaning church at about 9 - gets the envelope, opens it up and ...

It is an AFA recruiting DVD - telling him he should really consider applying to the Air Force Academy.

In case he gets something else from the Academy - what does the "appointment packet" actually look like? Thanks.

Yes, that DVD has been making the rounds.
"The Heart of a Falcon" right? NO clue what appt. packet looks like, sorry.

Well, naturally I would have to advise the second option. Idk the exact dates, I suppose I should, but when you get your Appointment packet, there are 3 options for Orientation. Go for the middle option!!!

It'll prob be in large envelope, I think people from last year say its big and over the front cover says something like "offer of appointment". A small letter sized envelope is not a good sign, got that last year :(

its a pretty big and hefty white envelope with offer of appointment enclosed (we joked about enclosed/inclosed earlier) on the outside. I want to say there's a picture of a cadet flying a glider but i could be mistaken on that last part.

Totally ruins the surprise.

"Well, I wonder what's in here..."

But you don't really care, you just got an appointment.

... the envelope please! Thanks for description

ok, we'll avoid excitement about postcards and dvd's from here on out.

Thanks again, congrats and good luck to all !

The Offer is in a large envelope, with five pretty little pictures on the left. It's not small, and will definitely not be missed - it's a huge, white, envelope.

Just checked the mail and received the appointment package today. That+Nom+DODMERB=Yess!!! What orientation date is the best?

The first one, cause I'll be there, duh :thumb:

And congrats on the appointment.
