2013 Appointments

Sounds like mass mailings have begun to go out. Congratulations guys. PICK SECOND ORIENTATION! :D
 
I kinda stared at it for a few seconds. Then I pretty much yelled, which startled the person across the street. I then sprinted back to my house, leapt over a bench, and ripped open the door. At which point, my mother yelled at me not to slam the door and I told her I just saved her $403,000.
 
Congratulations all! For the rest of us, I guess we have a few more weeks till we find out.
 
Hmmmm. I was rather calm when mine arrived. Maybe because I didn't realize it was mine because I NEVER get packages. haha :yllol:
 
How Very cool Needle. I don't think my son will forget today, he got certificate from his congressman...from House of Representatives saying: you have an Appointment and it will be in your hands soon! yay! Needle, thanks for all of your support on this forum for all candidates no matter what the outcome. THANK YOU!!! and...don't worry, we will still be your friend no matter which Academy our kids go to!!!!

Congrats to appointees

I assume all these appointees had LOA's or are other candidates starting to get appointments?
 
I believe it's a mixture of candidates with/without LOA's. I sent in my completed application back in the fall and received an offer of appt soon thereafter, but never got an LOA. I actually had a Presidential nomination but no congressional nom. Most of those who receive LOA's are just waiting on the nomination.

I'm pretty sure USAFA is sending out appt packages to candidates w/o LOA's by now. There are several guys and girls at my school who never received an LOA but have received offers of appt, including one girl who got into West Point two weeks ago. I'm not sure of USMA's policies on LOA's, though.

Best of luck to your son, pos2013falcon. (I read your introduction.) Did he attend Summer Seminar? If he's a two sport-athlete with enough academic/extracurricular/leadership credentials, hopefully the mailman brings good news in the coming weeks!

Out of curiosity, what state do you live in? There's a USAFA appointee at my school who wrestles and is going up to Sectionals soon. If you live in Illinois, maybe they've met.
 
hey trumpeter and fellow Illinoisan, who nominated you? get one from obama or durbin?
 
I got my appt before the congressional committees met, but I later received a letter from Obama saying that since he resigned his post in the Senate, he wouldn't be giving out nominations. The principal nom in my district went to someone else. I got in on a pres. nom, since my dad's active duty AF. How about you? Did you get a presidential nom or a congressional nom?
