2013 Appointments

Correction...sorry...The letter I received from Sen. Obama said that I didn't receive his nomination. I believe he still was giving out nominations, though.
 
We are all doomed come the 25th. Looking forward to it though. Haha.

By the way, isn't he President now, or is that just speculation and here-say?

Nah, ive received mine and didn't have an LOA. It makes sense that they're trickling out though since the application deadline is past. Soon they'll turn the water on full blast and a bunch will go out.
 
I'm with you, aa2013. And the excitement and anticipation will only increase over the next four months!

btown13, I went back and read your post on page 3 of this thread. Congrats on receiving Sen. Obama's nom - I know firsthand that the senatorial nominations are very competitive.

Regarding the non-LOA appts, I'm sure there are still many that haven't been sent out yet. To anyone who is still waiting, don't lose heart. A friend of mine last year received his appt in March. And another friend who's at USNA now didn't hear until mid-June! Apparently someone had turned down an offer of appt, and he was the next most-qualified candidate. This friend of mine was planning on lifeguarding at the local pool for the summer, when all of a sudden the appt package came in the mail and changed his life forever. I guess good things sometimes happen when you least expect it.

Well, like the other 1000 or so in my class, I received my appointment in Mid-March. ;)

I too had a friend who received his USNA appointment one week before he and I left to in-process at our respective SAs. He had wanted USAFA, but ended up with USNA, but he's happy with it none the less.
 
I was thinkin the Wildland Firefighter Course that i am taking was going to have to come into use this summer but I also wasn't expecting my appt. till March but it just randomly came in the mail last week. So you never know, tomorrow could be the day!!!

aa2013, i agree about I-Day. Also, I'm not going to argue if it is just a rumor!! ;) but I digress lol

Oh and I DIDN'T have an LOA

im pretty sure everyone on the list has either got the Appointment or waiting for it to come meaning they have a LOA + Nom, but havent received in mail yet. But i believe most have signed....like me

well i got my LOA a week and a half after i submitted my complete application, which was about a month ago. I received my appt in mail 3 weeks later (last week) and i know about 6 others that got their appts the same week! so im thinking their starting to turn the appointments out faster each week....not sure though
 
Its horrible waiting for the active-duty appointments. Sitting in limbo status is a bit stressful.
 
LOAs are only for people without nominations. If you recieved an appointment before March (early appointment) and/or an LOA, it means that you are highly qualified. The reason there are less LOAs now is because most (if not all) nominations have been awarded, so people that would have LOAs now have appointments.
 
I submitted my application online and it was complete sometime around January 25th or so. I received an appointment dated February 09. I am also from Socal.

I'm from LA County, around the Pomona/City of Industry area. I'm going on April 20 - 21.

On a side note, did you attend the Candidate Reception at LAAFB?
