They announced it today but I did not catch his name. Hornet? HNeedle? Any of you hear who it is?

anyone know anything about this year's BCT group staff? i heard one name on there that i remembered from our basic, as vice group comm. i think, but not sure...

Lets just say that him and the group staff are people you don't want to meet.

yes one of those people was on our bct staff too.

bct staff. group staff. the people that you do NOT EVER EVER EVER want yelling at you.

especially the third day of basic, pulling you out of the bathroom so the 3 highest ranking cadets in basic and ALL of your flight staff can make you feel like a grain of sand in the ocean. not that i know from personal experience or anything...............

you WILL meet them, and you WILL be scared. or at least that's how it was for us. i know that my BCT cadre are some of the scariest *O&#^$*&#$(*&@) i've ever seen.. and still are. although they're much cooler now

Potter has volunteered for second BCT Cadre....should be very interesting if it happens. Not really sure she knows how to be mean yet. Guess we'll just have to get her a pair of really dark OAKLEY's so no one can see her eye's, not that they will be able to anyway unless they are looking down. Built in trap for the really mean Cadre to start yelling at you.:thumb:

your "fictional experience" sounds very funny. yet scary:eek:

funny?........................

hahaha. you just wait til you get outta basic.

Scared is an accurate term...Basics commonly use this term for the BCT Commander and other cadre. You certainly don't want to "dine" with them.

Also be careful not to post anything on Facebook or other sites...in fact stay off of them. Each year there is some poor Basic who trash talks or post pictures of themselves with their face superimposed on that of a real officer and in the end most can't handle the extra attention. You do not want everyone to know your name BEFORE you show up on I day. At April orientation for 2011 everyone, including parents, already knew the names of Basics who were going to receive a "warm" welcome in June, and most are no longer there.

I wrote about that on another thread, but I believe inevitably many of them don't believe that:eek:

LY on CC there was a lot of taunting from kids about how they wouldn't be broken. It truly ticked off many cadets. The reality is just like SERE they will break you and rebuild you...but how hard they come down on you can be held in your own hands.

REMEMBER the cardinal rule in the military is to respect higher rank...learn it and learn it quick, preferably before getting to BCT. I use to ask Bullet what he would do if he disagreed with something, he would say I salute sharply and say yes sir!

Wow, sounds like a great place, broken kid and "most no longer there".... all because of a little fun on Facebook, etc? Let's see now ... I had a plan "B" :zip:

I wouldn't say to stay off of facebook, just don't be stupid! In fact, I remember reading posts from someone on CC who had a hard time that first day in June. It was the people she met through the forum who encouraged her.

Most "myspace basics" are encouraged to leave due to poor attitudes/lack of respect. If someone started trash-talking the boss before they even start at a company, I wouldn't expect them to last long either. It is usually an indicator of other problems, IMO.

What's funny is I really didn't get yelled at by our cadre that I can remember, in fact, the only two people who really yelled at me were the group training officer (Darshan Subramanian) and the group commander (Kellen Curry) ..............Long story....

lol. I love those two. I went to Israel with Darshan and Kellen lives a few doors down. Some of the nicest and fun guys. All those people you are scared of as Basics and 4 digs usually end up rockin later!

Everybody gets chills when they see Curry. He pulled off a few sneak attacks on my flight...apparently he is pretty chill though.

A word to the wise, do not be a dumb*** and spit by the replica of the Fallen Heroes Memorial before the bus. I did not do this, but a certain kid did. Let's just say that his day was slightly worse than average and he got rather familiar with the bus ride.

What happens if you smile or laugh? I'm afraid I wont be able to hold back one of those. Not trying to be rude, I'm just weird like that and find certain situations like that funny.
