2021- One month of CPR left!!!

Do you think if a candidate was not 3Q in say academics (worried low SAT's) that they would be TWE'd by now? DS is the primary nom for district. Lots of leadership and good grades in AP classes, but still CPR. I am trying to stay positive, but looking at last years thread.....few appt this late. Who else is CPR in Texas?

I know of three CPR candidates in Texas at my school alone.
Oh thank you....maybe our Slates have not been decided yet?
I am not from TX, however, one way to find out if your slates have been reviewed and appointments given is to search through your congressman or senator press releases. Here is one that was published by your senator Cruz very late last year - May 31, 2016. https://www.cruz.senate.gov/?p=press_release&id=2655

I am surprised at the timing - most of ours have come out in Feb.

I check on our congressman all the time and search news feeds, but alas notta!!! I know of two people in our district, but one was Cruz and the other NROTC. I doubt we will ever hear form him, because he is one of the main guys doing the new health bill.

Your congressmen have staffers who can send out a notification, too. It is not necessarily the congressman or senator him or herself who makes the call.
Good luck to all.

My DS is Texas, District 10. He has an LOA, pending medical waiver. We haven't heard of any other candidates in our district.

Bluediamond... unless your Moc was not re elected - like mine - then the staffer who handled the applications and interviews last fall could give you an update regarding your District. If the District appointment has already gone out and your DS is still CPR then the chance is high that they are now in the National Pool.

And my guess is the academic Q is based on a lot more than test scores. Again, my guess, a combination of course rigor, GPA, class rank, test scores, etc.

Ok I finally got the nerve to call his MOC office, and they said with the USNA, they don't find out about appointments till after the student is notified. They informed me that usually the students are calling them to verify if portal info is correct. They did inform DS is still principle nom, so........we wait.......ughhh!!!!

DS is still cpr in Texas District 22 but his TWE is coming. It is inevitable. Our district will only give one nomination to one academy. He only received a nomination to USAFA. He applied for the vp nomination but even though I am his mom and I love him he is not a rock star high caliber enough candidate for a vp nom.

LOL. Ha, ha. I just posted above 30 minutes ago and son just forwarded me his TWE email. We knew it was coming. Sad it's over. A long application process with many hours, interviews, fitness tests etc to end with a "Dear Applicant, competition was keen blah blah... form letter. Knew it was coming only had a nomination to USAFA. Next year he will know better and only choose to apply to ONE academy.

We are each dealing with this and some are glass half full while others are glass half empty. I'm a half full person. I still believe CPR is a great place to be instead the TWE folks. I want my DD to get an appointment but I also am sincerely hoping all of my SAF people do too! You have to be in it to win it! And if you are still CPR then you are still in it! Please give yourself some credit and some optimism. You've come this far, soooo much farther than most. And really? If this is stressful, imagine the anxiety you'll experience leading up to I Day?!!! I hope to be able to have to deal with that stress next! ⚓
@WonderGirl1965, not blowing smoke, but judging by your comments you do have the right attitude even when the situation is out of your control. So much others can learn from. Best wishes to you and your DD!

It sounds as if the person you spoke with in the MOC's office is misinformed. USNA always notifies the nominating MOC about a week before they post the appointment in the candidate's portal. It is up to each MOC to decide if they take advantage of this opportunity to call the candidate personally and inform them of their appointment. This is a long-standing tradition. My son's MOC called him, and his portal was updated 6 days later. However, it seems many MOCs choose not to call appointees.

He has not heard from USAFA...Hang in there sister. This ride has NOT come to a complete stop.

Thanks! Son is a little sad NOT because of the TWE . Just disappointed because he was never even considered for a nomination to USNA. Our district only gives one nomination to one academy. He was honestly undecided between the two academies but had to preference them when he completed the application last June. He didn't have any idea about one nomination/one academy until his interview. He finished his Air Force panel interview, went to the staffer and asked them where to wait/go for his Naval academy interview and found out. Praying something will work out for him because mama is not up for a second ride on this roller coaster. :).
