DS said he applied to the VP nomination even before the MOC applications had opened. So this would have been before May 2021.

However, he didn't get any email confirmation.
1. There should have been a receipt confirmation, right?
2. Should he put an application again before it's too late? The problem is that he forgot his answers to the essay parts, so might answer it differently now.

Unfortunately there is no email receipt when one applies for VP nom.

The answers should not be that difficult, your DS must have answered them in some form in his other nom applications, SA applications.

This happened with DD last cycle and she ended up applying to VP nom twice.

Yes, interestingly, no receipt process for VP nom. The SA reviews and selects the VP noms, and they don’t see any essays for elected officials’ noms.

Good lesson on keeping complete files on everything submitted.

Your son can always contact Admissions to confirm they are seeing it in his online file. For USNA, he can use the live chat bot on the Admissions site during certain hours of the day, candidate number in hand, to ask an Admissions Officer to quickly check.

Thank you all for your replies. I will tell DS to confirm with admissions that his VP nomination application is there.

I’ve read your post regarding VP Nomination. After submitting the VP nomination, “print copy” the acknowledgment page. For your records, you need to press the control and “print screen” function buttons simultaneously. One button is located in the lower left quadrant of the keyboard and the other on the upper right. Then open a blank word document and paste the copied “print screen” and save. You can format the image later. If you don’t have proof of the VP nomination, just redo it and save. With DS’s USNA Foundation Scholarship, he was required to provide proof of the VP nomination. Hope this helps.

my son accidentally applied for the vp nom twice. My desk top was set on the toggle high contrast option button on the application page and you couldn’t read the pop up that said you’ve applied. When no email confirm was received, he applied a second time from this lap top without that feature turned on. That page needs some work to be less confusing.

In Windows, doing the Print Screen by pressing the Windows button in the lower left and PRT SCR at keyboard top simultaneously, automatically sends the document to the Pictures folder tucked into a folder called Screenshots. Go into Screenshots, find your image, rename the file, save where you wish, or manipulate to another file format.

Thank you all for the tips. DS will redo it again and print out the page this time following the steps you described.
