4-Year NROTC Scholarship Acceptance Thread

Apologies, I was riding a crowded metro bus and somehow misread your question as a sideload scholarship. The answer should have been yes rather than no. I need to slow my happy fingers.
I just cannot get myself together. So...when a person submits their online application, they mark off Navy or Marine. But Marine applicants have two boards compared to the Navy's 9 boards. The Marine Option boards have only Marines reviewing the applications. The Navy has PNS members which can be Navy or Marine.

So, if you are a Marine Option, you won't be getting any news out of this recent board. As I type this, my MOI is shaking his head up and down. Sorry for the back and forth. Been a wild day. 🙁

Darn, I was designated as an alternate. Guess that's the cost of going tier 3

Don't be discouraged, my daughter was notified today of her alternate status also and she selected Tier 1😉

What does alternate status mean?
My family is entirely new to this process, so I don't know a lot about it other than what I have learned here! I assume it just means she was not selected at the second board and that her application stays in the mix!

There is some good information on that thread that might be of use!

Mine still says "No decision has been made on your application." Does this mean I was rolled to the next board? Almost certain all of my application should have been processed by the Nov Board.

Get any emails? My application still says no decision, but I received an email from the CMGO saying I was an alt.

Alternate Status means that your package is "kept alive" all the way through the last board with either an "Awarded" or "Not". There are some individuals on this forum that can tell you where you are standing as an Alternate if your NTAG Rep or Recruiter can not. In my DS's case, he was sitting as Alternate #2 on Jan 8, 2022, after that board was completed and was "Awarded" on April 6, 2022. DS was "NURSE OPTION" so the Alternate status was much easier to track.

"No decision has been made on your application." on the NETFOCUS Portal, as boards roll forward, means "Alternate". My DS never got any notification he was an Alternate. We got assistance from an individual on this forum to find out.

Do you know who I'd be able to ask about standing if my recruiter and rep don't know?
