Congrats to all who got the scholarships yesterday / today! Any of them MO? DS's portal still says application is before the Marine Board ... so we continue to wait!
Same although we have received word from the recruiting officer 2 weeks agoCongrats to all who got the scholarships yesterday / today! Any of them MO? DS's portal still says application is before the Marine Board ... so we continue to wait!
His first choice was TAMU, but NROTC is apparently at capacity there, so this is what he got. THANKFULLY he has other options. There will be no burnt orange in my house.Damn Tamumom, your son is attending UT Austin? Going to be an interesting dynamic now that A&M and Texas are in SEC and play each other in college football again haha
Oh wow, TAMU already filled up for NROTC this year? Interesting. Wonder if other popular places like Embry-Riddle, Notre Dame, San Diego, etc have also filled by nowHis first choice was TAMU, but NROTC is apparently at capacity there, so this is what he got. Frankly, I was very surprised because I know TAMU is trying to grow the Corps of Cadets, but maybe the NROTC scholarships have to be spread around to other schools so there is only so many allocated to TAMU.Oh wow, TAMU already filled up for NROTC this year? @Soysacs - Please don’t think you wasted your time! Our two oldest boys have been through this process, with different outcomes. This journey is not easy - the challenges seem overwhelming at times, yet you persevered and completed all parts which were asked of you. We all know it was so.much.work. I know you learned or improved so many skills which will ensure your future success - organization & time management skills, working with adults whose help you need (CFA, LORs, etc), most likely picking yourself up & continuing on when you didn’t want to, improving your physical fitness, etc. The list goes on! The competition is stiff. If this is your dream, don’t give up. Show up at your school’s NROTC unit as a College Programmer. I’m positive you won’t be the only one! Continue the work you started & win a sideload scholarship. Absolutely allow yourself time to be disappointed. It’s a tough blow. Then pick yourself up & keep grinding. This doesn’t have to be the end. Our oldest was told “no” too. He’s now a 2/C on scholarship. If you have any questions about that, just let me know.I found out I got denied. Im extremely disappointed. I also heard nothing from usafa nor uscga yet but I dont think ill get it since I dont have a plan B anymore (NROTC). I cant believe I wasted my time...
