4 -Year NROTC Scholarship Thread - Class of 2028

I completely agree. She has a fave branch depending on the school- but the fave school is without question- so hoping the early works out!! Thanks for your input.

It depends on the school. But at most of them, it isn't similar to a "blue chip" for recruited athletes. Won't make up for an otherwise weak application compared to other applicants. Make sure essays are superb, lots of applicants downplay this key part.

Some years, my unit had a rather large first year class; other years, it was really tiny. It ebbs and flows. We've been averaging like 5-7 commissioned USN ENS/USMC 2ndLts every year lately

Can units at some schools actually turn rejections into acceptances? My DS still hasn't heard back re: his NROTC MO application and will find out about his top choice school, which he applied to ED, tomorrow. Really wish we could have gotten the news, good or bad, re: his scholarship before we get the school decision in case it could have impacted it.

Have any ISR winners received their official offers yet? My son was notified in October and given the giant lottery check but they didn’t submit his packet until late last month. Hearing it could be January before the ISRs get the official word

They met last week (11th - 15th), results should be out either end of this week (18th - 22nd) or the week after.

Last year...my daughter was informed she was an ISR in September and didn't get finalized anything until late January. Deep breath...it's coming.
