@Padre101, I was thinking the very same thing! But, for some reason, I remember the waiting, and expecting, being a little bit more "fun" than this process has proved to be! I guess when you are young, you just sort of "know" everything will turn out as it's supposed to turn out. This is totally old-school when we used to wait by the mailbox for our college acceptances/denials back in the day.
Didn't have email or portals. Just waiting for the mailman.
That means that WP has verified that a nomination has been secured through a Presidential Nomination. The date is the verification date.Hello all - new to this site. I'm a grad. Youngest son applying to academy. We live in MA - no congressional or senator noms done up here yet. Today, my son noticed a green check mark in nomination box on portal - says President (or I think maybe an abbreviation) - and a date - Jan 18. we have received no mailing, or email, etc on this. Anyone know what that means?
Is he eligible for Presidential nomination? Son of career military perhaps?Hello all - new to this site. I'm a grad. Youngest son applying to academy. Not alone in that, nothing in TN either! The waiting is the worst.Wow! Thank you - great news. The congressional and senatorial nominations are slower up here.

That is exactly why...congratulations to your son!Yes - I'm a grad - 5 years active, but did over 20 total with reserve time. The admissions officer sent him and email a few weeks ago, and asked him to send in my DD214 (reflecting my service) - that must have been why.

Thank you! She has a ROTC Nom and very confident congressional is forthcoming so just waiting for them to make it official. Good luck to you all also.Good luck to you!
My liaison officer reached out to me to do an interview at the end of September 2016. It's not required though by any means so there is no space on the portal for it.One question: did you guys (those accepted) do the interview with your liaison officer? I don't see a spot on the application where it needs to be checked off so I wasn't sure if it's required or not.. thanks!
Any good news??? Nothing yet here, the mail just came and nada. I think our mailman is thinking I've lost it! Lol! I guess I shouldn't be surprised, we weren't expecting anything until Friday at the earliest. I got hopeful when I saw a couple appointments from Ca. This. Is. Excruciating. [emoji30]
Our son's arrived yesterday, mailman brought to door. Question: on the inner flap of the Priority Mail envelope as a #XX (two digit number) hand written. Does that mean anything to anyone? Also, I have seen Air Force Academy valued its degree at $534,XXX. Does anyone know what WP has for its comparable value? USCGA told us $450,000. Thanks in advance and good luck to all.
We noticed the numbers too. DS's said #17. Not sure what it means but we were curious as well.
