Both of my boys did this. Accepted ROTC scholarships and then eventually let them know they were attending a SA. If I recall, it says In the ‘fine print’ that accepting doesn’t preclude from accepting a SA appointment. Something to that effect. Additionally, ROTC is non binding until you show up for your sophomore year. You can walk away. How does it work if you have to accept ROTC scholarship to a designated school by the May 1st deadline, but the USMMA offers me an appointment after I have already picked a school, can I still accept the appointment?
Not necessarily . . . For example in the Class of 2022 I had two Candidates (one App on File, One Hold) that each received an Appointment after June 1st. Patient is a VIRTUE. Hang in there. So technically, if one is not put on hold, he/she will know that he/she has been rejected if they are not appointed/waitlisted by April 1st, right?
