The essays asks

1) Why are you seeking a nomination?
2) Why do you feel you are qualified?
3) Why do you want to be commissioned?

I am only allowed 200 words and am not sure how to say what I want with so little words.

Think Gettysburg Address....there were only 272 words in that address.

Pretty sure I wrote the same prompt for a nom essay in MA.

Be straight to the point. I wrote an essay first then downsized, which was hard.

answer the question

I am seeking a nomination because I want to attend X academy. Word count is 12.

Why? I want to become an Army officer. Word count is 7

It might seem obvious to you but you have to explain in your essay "why?" As a member of my congressman's nomination panel, I read many essays. Some essays are very good about how wonderful West Point is and how it will prepare you to become a great Army officer, but forgets to explain why you want to become a great Army officer.
