Can someone help with what privileges the new cadets get on Acceptance day weekend. The FAQs on the website says up to 75 miles away and the info in the "Information for New Cadets and their Parents" booklet says "walking privileges". Any insight would be appreciated.

If you visit the official west point web site (which is now www.westpoint.edu), there is a link for "about us". Under that tab, is a Parents page, and on that page there is a link for Resources, and on the Resources page is a list of "Links of Interest" - one of which is USMA classes. On the USMA classes page, there is a 2016 link. On the 2016 page, there is a FAQ for A-Day, which lists all of the privileges. This is the OFFICIAL info. So, your plebe can leave (in uniform), travel w/in 75 miles, eat out, go to the movies, etc.

Candidatedad: you might also be interested in the official USMA facebook page (updates posted frequently): West Point Parents. On RDay, in IKE hall, you will be able to sign up for the OFFICIAL West Point list serve. Deb Dalton, parent liaison will be manning that table. While there are other sources of info, only these 3 (website, facebook, USMA listserve) are official.
