I usually suggest that moms & dads and appointees sit down together and make a BIG WALL CALENDAR (that actually gets put up on some wall) with all deadlines clearly marked, those from USAFA or other SA, of course, but also those with high school, jobs, sports, etc. During April and May, things can get really messy with the appointee's hectic schedule, other siblings, parents, grandparents, etc. and everyone's clear and obvious, and sometimes fuzzy and mixed up, dates will be on a public wall in the home where it can be checked daily, by anyone. No need for mom and dad to nag or become anxious, no need for Junior or LilBit to miss that graduation-party-acceptance deadline.
Work it up now, and get it up on the wall. The computer type isn't as easily accessible, and certainly not as obvious to everyone.
Because we had one in civ college, two appointees, and a highschool junior, our FAMILY CALENDAR was about six feet long and covered 1 March - 1 July. Each kid had his/her own color. It worked exceptionally well for us.
