What is the DODMERB policy on a history of Accutane treatment for acne? I have been off the medication for about 3 1/2 months now.

Current use or use in the 8 weeks preceding the physical exam of Isotretinoin is a disqualification. If you have been off for over 8 weeks DoDMERB will request the medical records, and as long as the liver function tests (LFT's) have all been normal and has cleared up the acne (you can still have mild acne) you should be found medically qualified.

Thank you RetNavy, I have one more question though.
I also heard that there may be a problem with orthodontal appliances (braces). I had braces taken off a very long time ago; however, I still wear a small retainer on the inside of my bottom teeth. Is this a problem?
I also wear a removable retainer over my top teeth at night and can have the bottom (permanent) one taken out to be replaced with another removable one if necessary.
